OPALE is an Open Source project which development is done at two different levels:

  • the OPALE library: which is a scientific library written in Java and which is composed of different modules (tools, swools, mathtools,...). Its purpose is to give developers a strong object library that is easy to integrate in an application, an applet or a servlet.

  • the applications (front-end) based on the library and grouped under the name OApplications. These applications can be used for teaching purposes or to illustrate capabilities and possibilities of the library or again as proper scientific utilities for a precise task and that are simpler than traditional tools like MathLab and Mathematica etc.

OPALE is a project that is opened to everyone. Whether you are webmaster, translater or graphist, you can join or contribute to OPALE in the way you choose.

Finally, we are ready to take into account every constructive suggestions that will help the project.
