About Track Electives

See track.text for a full description of the track system.

Freshmen are required to take two semesters of work from a single track. Sophomores are required to take two semesters of work from each of the two remaining tracks. Sophomores must select one of three tracks and take two semesters of work from that track. Seniors must take four more semesters of work from that track. In the event that an incoming Senior changes his or her mind about his or her selection of tracks he or she may take two additional hours of Open Elective on the newly chosen track and still graduate with the requisite eight semesters of Track Elective work. (Remembering that two were taken either the Freshman or Sophomore year.)

Credits or Semester Hours

This curriculum provides a firm enough structure that a semester hour system as to obviate the need of a semester hour system. Students cannot meet the requirements without taking 44 semester hours of course work. (Two hours each of Physical Education and Fine Arts can be met through extra-curricular activities.)

*I'm not sure what to call this. I am, in fact, aware of what extra-curricular means ;-) I mean the opposite of intermural sports. I'd tend to say team sports, but many qualifying sports are really individual sports (i.e. tennis).
