Version 1.0.0 Released

October 14, 2004

Version 1.0.0 of the Bloglines Notifier Applet has been released. Go to the download section to obtain it.

Download

The most recent version of the Bloglines Notifier applet is 1.0.0. It can be obtained from the Savannah download page.

Installation

Before the applet can be installed the downloaded file must be decompressed by using:

tar vzxf bloglines_applet-x.x.x.tar.gz

where "x.x.x" needs to be substituted with the version number for the version that you downloaded. Installation is then accomplished in the usual manner:

cd bloglines_applet-x.x.x

configure

make

make install

Note that you will probably have to execute the last command as the root user depending on where you are installing the applet. More detailed instructions can be found in the "INSTALL" file that is located in the top-level directory of the source distribution.

Note that the preceding instructions pre-suppose that you have a working installation of Gnome.

Todo

  • Create .deb and .rpm files (contributions welcome)
  • Translations (contributions welcome)
  • Update the applet to use the new bloglines web-app protocols. This would make it possible to display which news-feeds have new items instead of the blanket count that is currently displayed.
